Cooper. Is. The. Man.
This was probably the best day we had ever seen him have. He pretty much slept the whole day and was just happy with life. He is continuing to breathe really well, and he didn't have any swings that we saw in his oxygenation levels. That has never happened before.
Chloe got to hold him today, and he was just loving it. Usually he is a little bit fussy when we first pick him up, but not today. He just snuggled right up to Chloe and went to sleep. He didn't get too hot (a common occurance), and his breathing improved over even what he had already been doing. This little boy seriously loves his mommy.
He had another head ultrasound today. Normally we have to wait until the next day to hear anything back about the results, but today our resident doctor came and found us before he took off for the day. This week there was no change with his brain bleeds/swelling, which is preferable to any increases. Pretty good news.
Cooper is getting some cheeks on him (see pictures below). When our nurse tonight weighed him she had to do it three times because she couldn't believe how much weight he had gained. Cooper jumped up by 60 grams today, which puts him just over 3 lb. 2 oz. His rate of growth seems to be rapidly improving and we are hopeful that he will be big enough to come home sooner rather than later (knock on wood).
Long story short, Cooper is doing awesomely and we are optimistic that he will keep it up!
