When Taylor and I first saw Cooper today, he was sleeping peacefully. We were watching him sleep for a few moments when he started smiling sweetly (still sleeping) and sucking on his feeding tube. I think our hearts grew a few sizes. :) He is the sweetest boy!
There weren't many changes today... Cooper is still on 4 liters of high flow oxygen, and doing very well respiratory wise. He has only had a handful of Brady episodes in the last week, and they were all self-resolving and not nearly as long or severe as the ones he had last week. They all happened after his feed started, and were likely caused by reflux, which is pretty normal. They did increase his feeds today, and he seems to be tolerating the extra amount very well! When Cooper was weighed this evening, he was the same weight as last night (1195 grams).
This experience is teaching us patience in so many ways. We spend our days sitting by Cooper's bed, literally watching him grow. Since he missed his entire third trimester, he has a lot of growing to make up for! "Although His time is not always our time, we can be sure that the Lord keeps his promises."

Thank you for your faith and testimonies. I work at a county library and am often fortunate enough to work with Chole's mom Ginger. She is an amazing lady. Anyway, I am teaching my Laurels tomorrow about the roles of mothers and fathers in families. As I read about your experience with your sweet son I am reminded of a video that I am planning to share. "God gave us families to help us become what he wants us to be. This is how He shares his love. For the family is of God." Your stories, testimonies, and declarations of faith strengthen my testimony and cause me to reflect on the miracles that occur everyday. ❤️
ReplyDeleteThere isn't a direct link to the video but it is the 3rd video on this page, the title starts Musical presentation....
